Marysia Galbraith - Clay Artisan

Marysia’s carved designs retain some of the looseness characteristic of wood block prints, and she uses glazes especially developed to accentuate their contours.

She loves to explore the infinite possibilities of clay, experimenting with alternative forms, surface designs, and glazes. Her current work features lidded forms, stamped platters, and whimsical handles.

Marysia started working with clay in high school, and pottery has remained an essential part of her life through her years as a student, park ranger, anthropologist, and professor at The University of Alabama’s New College and Department of Anthropology.
